AUGUST DAYS

Dear diary, August started with coming back home from our road trip around Southern Finland. It felt good to be back home <3 

Day trip to Onkamo. It is always a pleasure to spend time there <3 

Getting ready for the long winter. I love having a freezer full of berries and putting them to my smoothies.

 Feels so cosy to burn candles again after summer!

New clothing. Clearly I have a thing for blue now. Knit is from Ralph Lauren and Jeans from Mango <3 

Started the second book of the Crescent City series. Is there anything better than reading while it's raining?

Hair pampering day. I think I will make this an annual thing. Love this chocolate brown colour!

Rainy adventure to Savonlinna with a friend. I'll make a seperate post about that day, but we had such a cosy day <3

Pullavohveli (bun waffle) time at Vesikioski! That is a must-have in every summer. Also, can we have a moment of admiration to my two-piece butterfly set. I designed it and my Mum sew it <3

New Mary-Jane ballerinas from Guess. They were so painful to walk but luckily with a separate insole I can actually use them xD

New two-piece set from H&M. Clearly I have a thing now for color blue and two-piese sets, lol.

Those Biodance collagen masks are my favourite ones ever! If you haven't tried them yet, this is your sign to give them a go. I got a 10-piece set of face towels from Jysk to have a fresh towel daily, and that was the best decision ever! I've become quite a germ freak lately, you see xD 

END OF SUMMER

 

And just like that, the -ber months have begun, and autumn has officially arrived.  Although this summer wasn't the greatest weather-wise, really special memories were made that I will remember with warmth in the upcoming colder months. I travelled all around Finland and saw new places from my bucket list. I enjoyed time in nature with multiple good books. I saw my friends and did all the fun things you can do only in summer. I appreciated the few warm days summer offered and really let myself take things slowly, enjoying every moment, even the smallest ones.

JULY DAYS

Dear diary, July started with a surprise birthday party for my sister.  

I'm obsessed with this strawberry matcha. 

Pastels have been my colour palette for this summer.  

My new Coach bag! The best second-hand find for a while.

I started reading the Crescent City trilogy and the beginning of the book was sooo sticky, but I'm glad I made it through.

My favourite combo: sunny warm day and a good book.  

Found this beautiful set on sale and I had to buy it. Glad I did, since I've been wearing it so much!

Dinner at Kerubi. I went for garlic snails as a starter and fish and chips for main. After dinner, we went to take some quick birthday photos of me by the river. They turned out so pretty! 

Celebrating my birthday in a spa with a friend. Cold autumnal day well spent, and it was the 23rd of July... Meanwhile, the rest of Europe is burning; we have autumn in the middle of summer... :D

I hosted my birthday party for my family and then...

... we continued the celebration at Soossi. Drinks, pizza, wine and dessert... I was spoiled <3

JUNE DAYS

Dear diary, June was full of beautiful flowers and the scent of lilacs.

I did some amazing purchases and second-hand finds. Never thought that I would start wearing capris again, but here we are.  

Summer day well spent. First Vietnamese dinner, then Aperol Spritz and gelato as a dessert. 

The best ice cream in Joensuu for sure! Dandelion and cherry flavours were delicious!  

Day trip to Outokumpu to visit my grandparents' grave. 

 Finally saw the Materialists movie. Let's just say I'm team Harry all the way... :D

Cosy day at home with slightly healthier snacks.

MAY DAYS

Dear diary, May started with celebrating May Day at my mum's...   

...and then continuing the celebration at Onkamo the next day. 

I restocked some of my all-time favourite beauty products.

Baked some delicious chocolate chip cookies.  

It's not summer without a new bikini. I'm in love with it <3 

We had a surprise bachelorette party and stayed the night at a hotel. The day started with breakfast at my home and continued to a local park for some activities. Then we headed to our suite, changed into swimsuits and went downstairs to the spa. The evening ended with getting ready, having dinner and going early to bed (for the upcoming bride's request lol. We are no longer party girls xD).

Cosy home days <3

After watching the Netflix documentary The Plastic Detox, I immediately changed my plastic water bottle to a glass one. The best purchase from Rusta! Now I have a mission to replace all my plastic kitchen items with metal or bamboo ones. 

Finally made it to the tandem reading part of the Throne of Glass series. I highly recommend reading the two books simultaneously! 

Wuthering Heights was quite a disappointment. I haven't read the book or watched the earlier adaptations, but since everyone was talking about it, I assumed it was good. I found it boring and really disliked both of the main characters xD 

Spending a heatwave day with a friend. Burgers with rosé at Morton and swimming in Ilosaari <3

My friend got me a little parting gift since she is moving away from Finland. I just love Dior products!

Arriving at the summer house, having Indian food, playing mölkky, sauna and swimming and enjoying the cloudy but calm summer day.
