NOVEMBER LIFE

This year's Halloween costume was inspired by Evelyn O'Connell from The Mummy movie. Can't recommend using a masking tape on your skin tho... :D

My Christmas celebration starts in November as always <3 

Having a fancy date night with a friend over some cake and sparkling wine. This is such a nice new event in Otto Trattoria! 

Me and my friend had a little pre-Christmas party since she was leaving Finland to spend the holidays with her family abroad. Oh to have a friend group that all lives in the same city...or at least in the same country. 

My niece's birthday party and my outfit for the day. That white sequin blazer from H&M has been the best purchase I've made for a while!  

Having a walk with Kentsu overdressed as usual, haha. / Wrapping presents and watching the year's first Christmas movie; Our Little Secret.

COLDER DAYS LOADING

 

Colder days are loading...I hope. This November has been exceptionally dark due to the lack of snow. We had a beautiful couple of days when the ground was covered in white but now that is only a memory. I hope we get at least a white Christmas (fingers crossed) or this "winter" will be just a really long and dark autumn. 

Christmas is approaching and in a couple of days is the last month of the year. I've been a busy elf; almost all of the presents are already wrapped and waiting to be opened. I knew that December would be a busy month with one-night spa stays to Koli and Järvisydän and other Christmas traditions so stressing about presents is the last thing I want to add to that otherwise relaxing and fun month. Can't wait!

OCTOBER LIFE

Enjoying beautiful fall colours with my little teddy bear <3

Me and my Mum baked a LOT of cinnamon buns to store in a freezer. Nothing beats the taste or the smell of an oven-fresh cinnamon bun!

Autumnal tea date with a friend in my favourite city part of Joensuu (Taitokortteli).

We hosted a housewarming party for our family. On the menu were apple pie with vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce, and also pumpkin cupcakes made with my own recipe. 

The pieces of jewellery I'm currently obsessed with! Shades of red have been this falls THE thing. 

Tea catch-up date with a friend in Cafe Nikolai. 

Fall colours <3 / It has been a while since the last time I played a video game. A huge recommendation for that game! I loved the gameplay and that all of your choices mattered to the storyline. 

The bathroom desperately needed some extra storage. I got tired of looking at our products on the corner of the bathroom floor... :D

Dinner date outfit and trying out the new ramen place in Joensuu. Sadly I didn't find it any special, so probably won't be going there again.  

Slow morning at home with some banana pancakes, jam and cranberries.  

The bedroom looks so gorgeous in the morning light <3 / The last glimpse of autumn colours. The next morning all the leaves were gone. Winter is coming...

AUTUMN MEMORIES

 

Last year around this time we had an autumnal weekend trip to Tampere. Two nights in a different city to celebrate an early Halloween was so much fun! Here are a couple recommendations to visit in Tampere:

Pyynikki - An area with nice views and hiking opportunities. Also, rumour says you can have the best sugar doughnuts in Pyynikki tower/cafe. 

Pyynikinrinne - Beautiful area with gorgeous houses (or more like villas). 

Pispala - Such a gorgeous area in Tampere full of colourful wooden houses and beautiful view to a lake. 

Café Pispala - The best pancaked I've ever had! The meal is so worth the price and has a lot to eat! The cafe is small so make sure you make a reservation before going!

Särkänniemi (Karmiva Karnevaali) - The best way to get a Halloween mood! Although, most of the rides were no longer in use, making ticket prices ridiculously high. It is still worth the visit tho!

Tallipiha - My new favourite place in Tampere! Tallipiha Suklaapuoti (chocolate shop) is a must-visit and also their cafe is super cute with an antique/vintage interior.

 I also gathered a bouquet of sunflowers to bring home <3 / The granny square bag is finally finished! I can't wait to wear it next summer!

Luggage ready to go for a holiday to Spain! Kisse sadly wasn't allowed to come with :D / Going to the train late in the evening instead of in the morning was weird. Usually travelling to a different country takes one day but due to an early flight (and lack of trains at night), it took two days...

After ten days in Spain, I arrived to Helsinki! / And bought a snack for the train ride home. 

Autumnal breakfast. Oatmeal with fried cinnamon-honey apples. / Emily in Paris and matcha. I finally bought supplies to make matcha and now I'm obsessed!

It was so weird to change straight to warm coats after living in bikinis and summer dresses in Spain xD /  Picking autumn flowers for my balcony.

Getting beautiful again at Piece of Beauty (my go-to place for getting eyebrows etc!) / Burgundy = The colour of the season. I'm so obsessed! 

I wanted to treat myself and ordered new things for autumn but I kept only the Ugg Tasman shoes. The burgundy coat was cute but I would only wear it in autumn so not worth the money.
